Remi

Remi is a five-year-old Harlequin Great Dane, currently weighing 160 pounds.  We adopted him when he was one and a half years old.  My husband wanted a big dog, and Remi was the biggest dog we found.  The first night after we brought him home, I was in tears, and told my husband that he HAD to return Remi first thing in the morning.  That's because Remi barked all night because he wanted to get into bed to sleep with us, and I was very afraid of him!  But I decided to face my fears and learn how to communicate with him.  I bought a book on dog training, and then another one, and then another one.  It wasn't Remi's fault - I had a lot to learn!  Still do, in fact.  But Remi has been very patient as I fumble through various training techniques and methods.  He has become a dog with much better manners, and I have become a much better dog owner because of him.

Remi likes the following things:
  • Peanut Butter
  • Barking at bicyclists
  • Going to the dog park
  • Rawhides
  • Destuffing stuffed animals
  • Going for walks
  • Sleeping
  • Barking at strangers
  • Destroying anything with a squeaker
  • Going for car rides
  • Playing with other dogs
  • Barking at school buses
